1. What is the purpose of ITS?

ITS serves online problems in addition to written homework. Work on few problems per session and ask questions on those that you find challenging.

  • Supplement homework questions with quick conceptual questions.
  • Review & Test your conceptual knowledge of course material.
  • Electronically grade and distribute problems.
2. How do I report login problems, bugs, or ask additional questions about ITS?

  • Email Greg Krudysz: krudysz@ece.gatech.edu
  • If you do find a bug, please make a screen-shot and attach it with your email.
3. How do I login to ITS?

  • ITS is available at: quid.gatech.edu — login with GT id ( same as for Canvas )
4. How are Assignments graded on ITS?

  • Each question is worth 100 pts, you need 2400 pts to obtain full score on each Assignment.
  • Each Assignment consists of 40+ questions.
  • ITS Assignment = Homework Assignment.
  • ITS Assignment grade = 30*( min( Assignment_Points , 2400 ) / 2400 ).
  • In ITS under the "My Scores" link you can view your grade for each Assignment.
5. What is the correct answer?

  • All questions give a binary answer: Correct/Incorrect. Question feedback (and Review mode) is based on question type:

    • Multiple-choice questions provide a class distribution, which should narrow plausible answers.
    • Matching questions offer no feedback, but correct answers can be inferred through the process of elimination.
    • Computed questions provide the exact answer within allowable tolerance range.

In general, answers can be inferred. For additional explanations please post your questions to Piazza "inquiring about a possible approach to a problem", or seek help during the office hours.
6. What happens when I skip a question?

  • In each assignment, ITS chooses randomly one question from a bank of questions.
  • When a question is skipped, another question is randomly selected from the question bank, and skipped questions will eventually be selected from the bank.
  • There is no penalty for skipping a question, you can skip as many questions as you like.
  • ITS does allow to get back to the skipped questions, however once a question has been submitted, it will be taken out of the pool of questions.
7. Can I retake a question that I have already submitted?

  • No, once a question has been submitted, you can not retake that question again.
  • Each assignment has multiple of similar questions, hence by doing more questions you will be exposed to similar conceptual problems.
8. Can I see/take the remaining problems past the assignment's due date?

  • No. At the moment, there is no way to take (or have a look at) the remaining unsolved questions past their due date - we are working on adding this feature. You can only access the submitted questions from the "Review" tab.
  • Please take advantage of the "Concept" mode by selecting a "concept" that you wish to focus on, and take its corresponding questions for additional practice. The "Concept" mode is not scored.
  • ITS assignments have been scheduled to close couple days before exams, giving ample additional time to review and not worry about the Assignment deadlines. Since assignments are released for 2+ weeks, a sound strategy is to exhaust all questions within each Assignment before its due date.
9. What is the schedule for ITS Assignments?

  • Each assignment will be released at 11:59 am and will be due by 11:59 pm.
  • Assignments close at the end of the Due date, by 11:59 pm.
